How did you feel prior to your session?
How did you feel after?
Was there anything you would like different?
Do you have any recommendations?
Each session is fully customizable and comprehensive communication is our goal. We are here for you.
Make yourself comfortable. Your therapist will adjust your position, she/he will either move you or will ask you to move what is needed. Otherwise, feel free to change your position anytime to make yourself more comfortable.
Many people close their eyes and relax completely during a session; others prefer to talk. It's up to you. It is your massage, and whatever feels natural to you is the best way to relax. Do not hesitate to ask questions at any time.
this depends on the type of massage and the depth of the strokes. A light, relaxing massage that doesn't probe very deep into the muscles, shouldn't hurt. With that being said, there is a 'feels good' hurt and an 'ouch, stop it' hurt. A good massage, even a really deep tissue massage, should always stay in the 'feels good' hurt range.
Pain can be an indication that the muscle is possibly injured or inflamed and pressure should be adjusted. Also, pain can cause you to tighten up and negate the relaxing effects of the massage. The most effective and deepest massage always works with your body's natural response, not against it. If at any point something is too deep or uncomfortable, just say "pineapples" and your therapist will lighten up or back off.
This solely based on your preference, it varies from person to person. If you are just looking for some occasional relaxation, then a session every 2-3 weeks may be fine for you.
However, if you are looking to address a specific condition, then it is recommended to go more frequently at first and then slowly taper down to a maintenance schedule. Sometimes more frequent 60-minute sessions can be effective until your goals are met and a maintenance schedule is in place.
Frequency of sessions should be discussed with your massage therapist after your treatment when he/she has a better hands-on understanding of your particular muscular issues.
High. Naturally though. Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience a significant decrease or freedom from long-term aches and pains. Many feel a little slowed down for a short period and then notice an increase of energy, heightened awareness and increased productivity which can last for days.
If you received a deep massage, you may be slightly sore the next day - much like a good workout at the gym. Sometimes a hot shower, or a soak in the tub can ease this soreness.
After your session you should increase your water intake a bit. Just a glass or two more than normal is usually fine. This helps keep your body's tissues hydrated and healthy.
Our appointments are currently booked through MassageBook.com, a secure booking site made just for massage therapists.
First-time clients are not permitted to book online. Please contact us via phone (786) 344 3031 or email anaddictiontozen@gmail.com in order to get set up in the system. Going forward you can call, text, or book online.
Without a doubt! Massage therapists always carry massage music with them, but you can listen to whatever you like.
If in doubt, take a shower beforehand. It is nice to shower before your massage therapist comes if you have been sweaty for whatever reason.
It is customary to provide your massage therapist with a glass/bottle of water. Because massage may be dehydrating, you should have one ready for yourself, too, after your session. Snacks are deeply appreciated, but never necessary and are more commonly turned down by therapists.
ATZ provides mobile massage 7 days a week from 9 am to 2 am!
Addicted to Zen provides therapists who only need you to supply somewhere to wash hands, and set up a table to lay your body. The therapist will provide everything else. If you have a particular oil you would like me to use that’s fine but you don’t need to provide it.
This is an answer that will definitely vary from therapist to therapist as some will ask you to supply the towels for the massage.
We do not currently have one. We know it’s not great business practice but the reason we don’t have one is purely because I don’t want people to not cancel their appointment even if they are feeling ill. I would rather you cancelled, particularly at the moment with Covid. This may change in the future, so it’s always advisable to check.
It takes us 10-15 mins to set up, another 10-15 to pack up and there will probably be some discussion about what it is you need, so if you book 1 hour I will be there at least 90 mins. Each session is 4/20 friendly, because of this, when clients medicate before or after, time will usually overrun, if you need us out by a certain time please let us know. If there is more than one client in a house then there is usually additional time for change over, so add another 10 mins.
Our therapists are all trained in self defense and are physically and mentally prepared and equipped to remove themselves from a sticky situation. A police report will be filed and said client will be banned and blacklisted from any & all connections to Addicted to Zen.
